The third annual Corpus Christi City Championships were held at the Holiday Inn Airport. Bill Wheeler took first place with a score of 4.0. Jesse James Lozano and Bill Stevens tied for 2nd with 3.5 points. In the Reserve section, Emma Contreras and Alyssa Potter tied for first with 4.0 points. Dean Menezes and Sierra Villarreal tied for 3rd with 3.5 points.
August 18-20
The Corpus Christi Team Championship was changed into a tournament known as "the Leftovers tournament." We didn't have enough teams for a competitive event. Winner of that event was Bill Wheeler with 4.0 points. Lou Thurston and Jim Shaw tied for second with 3.5 points.
